Plantamed’s manufacturing background includes production in Sweden, quality-management experience and a GMP certificate issued by the Swedish Medical Products Agency for the manufacture of medicinal products and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
What GMP means
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is a quality-management framework for medicinal-product manufacturing. It covers controlled procedures, responsibilities, documentation, facilities, equipment, quality control and batch management across the manufacturing process.
A GMP certificate applies to the manufacturing activities and scope specified in that certificate. It should not be interpreted as meaning that every product made by a company is automatically a medicinal product, or that all food supplements fall within the same regulatory category.
Plantamed’s production background
Plantamed operates near Eskilstuna in Sörmland, Sweden, where its production background includes medicinal products, food supplements and hygiene-related products. Public company information also describes Plantamed Aktiebolag’s activities as including pharmaceutical manufacturing alongside natural products and food supplements.
Quality management in context
Quality control is more than a single inspection or a label. In a GMP-based manufacturing environment, raw materials, manufacturing procedures, equipment, production conditions, documentation and final-batch management all form part of the wider quality system.
For Plantamed, production in Sweden, GMP-related manufacturing and decades of company experience are connected but distinct concepts. Together they provide context for the company’s manufacturing background while the classification, formulation and authorised information for each product must be considered separately.
